What’s this all about?

We are fundraising for Nelson and Tasman Schools! It’s 40 years since Nelson-born runner Rod Dixon won the New York City Marathon.

To mark that milestone, Nelson Mayor Nick Smith, Whakatū Marae Poutohuwhakahaere Kim Ngawhika, Saint Paul’s School Board Chair Lester Binns and Top South Media Managing Director Andrew Board are preparing to compete in the 2023 NYC marathon on 5 November.

Lorraine Moller is generously donating her time to coaching the running team. They will pay their own way but seek donations to fundraise for Rod Dixon’s KiDSMARATHON, an in-school running and nutrition educational programme that Dixon established.
